A fortunate individual from West Virginia has struck gold with the lottery. Sheetz #482 located on North Eisenhower Drive in Berkley has successfully sold a Powerball ticket worth a tremendous $50,000.

Last week’s draw resulted in the numbers 6, 15, 22, 42, and 47 being the winning combination. The Powerball number drawn was 26. In Berkley, a lucky ticket matched four of these numbers along with the Powerball. The customer, however, did not opt for the Powerplay feature.

The West Virginia Lottery’s website states that customers have a 1 in 913,130 probability of winning the $50,000 payout.

How much is the current Powerball jackpot?

Currently, the Powerball jackpot stands at a staggering $526 million.

As per the Lottery’s website, the probability of winning the jackpot is 1 in 292,201,338. In West Virginia, residents have a 1 in 11,688,054 chance of winning $1,000,000. In general, the odds of winning any prize are 1 in 24.87.

In the event of a Powerball jackpot win, the amount will reset to a guaranteed $20 million.

How to play Powerball in West Virginia

Collecting your West Virginia Lottery winnings

Once you hit the Powerball Jackpot, you will have a time frame of 180 days from the conclusion of the game to collect your winnings. At this point, you will be required to choose between receiving a lump sum cash payment or opting for a graduated annuity.

By selecting the graduated annuity option, you will be entitled to receive a total of 30 payments spread out over a period of 29 years. It should be noted that these payments will progressively increase each year by a predetermined percentage.
