West Virginia, brace yourselves for March Madness! On Sunday, the NCAA Tournament committee announced that both the men’s and women’s teams of the West Virginia Mountaineers have made the cut.

In the first round, Coach Bob Huggins’ Mountaineers, who finished the regular season with a record of 19-14, will face Maryland on Thursday in Birmingham, AL. The men’s team is seeded ninth in the South Region.

With a regular season record of 19-11, the women’s team from West Virginia secured the 10th seed in the Greenville Region. In the first round of the competition, they will be pitted against Arizona, who holds the 7th seed. Interestingly, the game will also take place in Maryland, but on Friday.

West Virginia teams have not fared well in NCAA tournaments
